On January 13, 2021, An Phat Holdings (APH) and the Vietnam Standards and Quality Institute (VSQI) successfully signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on promoting the standardization of compostable materials and products in Vietnam.
Within the framework of the ceremony, the leadership of Vietnam Standards and Quality Institute visited APH’s factories including packaging production lines, compostable products, high-tech architectural plastics, etc.
Welcoming the delegation and the MOU signing representative, Mr. Dinh Xuan Cuong – Vice Chairman and CEO of APH expressed his appreciation to Vietnam Institute of Quality Standards for placing confidence in the Group. Therefore, APH willing to share information, resources, promote cooperation and exchange activities in the field of mutual interest.
Previously, in 2020, APH’s Research and Development department and VSQI’s Technical department contributed ideas to complete national standards (TCVN) for materials and products capable of decomposition in Vietnam. Following the success of TCVN, the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the two units as an acknowledgment and trust opens a cooperative relationship in the upcoming 2021 – 2023 period.
Sharing at the signing ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Linh – Deputy Director General of Directorate for Standards, Metrology and Quality (STAMEQ) shared that in the coming period, the STAMEQ will actively research and complete the national standards for compostable materials and products, disseminate these standards together with businesses and organizations in Vietnam.
In Vietnam, the Vietnam Standards and Quality Institute (VSQI) – a scientific and technological organization under the Directorate for Standards, Metrology and Quality, is known as the unit responsible for developing national standards and regulations. APH is also the first enterprise in Vietnam to successfully produce compostable materials and products that achieved numerous international certifications. Hence, the two units will collaborate to build standards for compostable materials in Vietnam, promoting the development of environmentally friendly products and the green consumption trend.
