At the seminar “Women’s role in trade facilitation” held on March 23, 2022, by the U.S Agency for International Development USAID (USAID TFP Project) in collaboration with Customs News (General Department of Customs), Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Huong – Deputy CEO of An Phat Holdings attended as a speaker.
This seminar emphasized the role of women in business management, leadership and especially, in trade facilitation. In fact, the participation of women in private enterprises brought an outstanding value to the economy.
Ms. Huong declared that An Phat Holdings is a leading eco-friendly and high-tech plastic company in Southeast Asia. Until now, the Group has owned 16 subsidiaries with various types of products presented in 70 countries around the world. From 2020 to 2021, some of An Phat Holdings’ subsidiaries had the honor to be on the list of “Prestigious Exporters” and effectively contributed to the export development of Viet Nam. Total export revenue in 2021 of the Group reached VND 10,436 billion, stronger growth of 62% compared to the same period in 2020.
With the constant creativity and management capacity of the entire Board of Directors, the Group has achieved such impressive growth. Most importantly, up to 40% of leaders are female and actively contributing to the sustainable development strategy of An Phat Holdings.
Besides, Ms. Tran Thi Thu Huong also shared some advantages as well as disadvantages of APH’s export activities during the Covid-19 pandemic and appreciated all dedicated support of Customs authorities in import and export activities.
The seminar updated valuable information regarding trading between Vietnam and other countries in the world, most importantly, in the concept of the Covid-19 pandemic. At the same time, the role of women in the Customs industry and Vietnamese businesses was appreciated to effectively contribute to the economic growth.
